Your next step after a dispute

Green Dot / GO2bank Dispute Lawyer

A disputed withdrawal, a locked account, and a missing deposit can look similar in an app while requiring different investigations. Start with the exact Green Dot or GO2bank product and the movement of your money.

Identify the product before choosing the dispute process

Keep the full product name from your statement, the issuer shown in your agreement, and whether the account is a deposit account or prepaid product. Do not assume every card associated with Green Dot has the same agreement or reporting process.

For GO2bank, use the deposit-account agreement and official dispute support materials linked below. For another Green Dot program, retain the disclosures supplied with that particular card. An unfamiliar brand on a statement should be clarified before a legal demand is directed to an institution.

Account takeover and lost access

Build a timeline of changed login details, unexpected security messages, failed sign-ins, and disputed withdrawals. Track requests to restore account access separately from reports that money was taken without permission.

If you cannot see the transaction history, report what you know through a verified support channel and preserve the acknowledgment. When access returns, download the records and identify additional disputed entries promptly.

When a promised card lock did not seem to work

Save the chat, email, or call notes recording what support said would be blocked and when. Match later transactions to their authorization and posting dates, and identify whether they were card purchases, ATM withdrawals, ACH debits, or another transfer type.

A replacement card does not necessarily explain activity using account information. The review should address the actual payment route and scope of the security action, rather than assuming every later entry proves a lock failed.

Prepaid-account timing and identity verification

Qualifying prepaid accounts have special Regulation E provisions. Statement alternatives can affect reporting periods, and identity-verification status can affect protections for certain prepaid accounts. Preserve when you registered the card, completed verification, accessed transaction history, and received written records. See the CFPB’s prepaid-account rule.

Report promptly using the instructions for your product. Do not assume an account marketed as prepaid has no protections, or that every product uses an identical deadline.

Missing deposits need their own evidence

If a paycheck, benefit payment, or cash load never appeared, keep the sender’s confirmation, trace number, deposit date, or retailer receipt. Distinguish money that never arrived from money that arrived and was later withdrawn.

An attorney can review the records, denial, applicable terms, and possible forum. Account restrictions or a disappointing support response alone do not establish a recoverable legal claim.

What to save for a case review
