PSECU charge disputes and denied claims

Trying to dispute a PSECU charge, waiting for a decision, or dealing with a denial? Start with the card or account involved. These resources address personal-account disputes with Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union.

How do I dispute a charge with PSECU?

Use PSECU’s official app, website, or the number on your card to report an unfamiliar transaction promptly. Save the claim number and a copy of your report. This is an independent law-firm website; submitting our case-review form does not notify PSECU of a dispute.

A personal debit-card purchase or electronic withdrawal may involve EFTA and Regulation E. A personal credit-card billing error involves a different process, including applicable written-notice requirements; see our FCBA guide. Identify the product before relying on a deadline or procedure.

Start with the account and the evidence

Save the date and substance of your first notice, any request for written confirmation, provisional-credit notices, and the final explanation. Identify PSECU—not another state-employees credit union.

A denied claim does not by itself establish a legal violation. Review the transaction, reporting dates, and investigation together. The EFTA guide explains consumer electronic-transfer protections; the FCBA guide addresses credit-card billing errors.

Arbitration and filing costs

PSECU’s published March 2026 provision provides for AAA arbitration and an initial mailed dispute notice with an opportunity to resolve the matter. Fees ordinarily follow administrator rules. A reasonable, good-faith written inability-to-pay request can result in payment or reimbursement of all or part of the member’s fees after an unsuccessful administrator fee-waiver request. Review the conditions and any opt-out before relying on it.

The version applicable to your account, amendments, opt-out history, exclusions, and administrator rules must be reviewed before choosing a forum. Arbitration costs are separate from attorney’s fees and case expenses.

Frequently asked questions

Is PSECU the same institution as PEFCU?

No. PSECU is Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union. PEFCU in these resources means Publix Employees Federal Credit Union. Their account and arbitration terms differ.

Will submitting an inquiry start an arbitration?

No. A case-review inquiry is not a legal filing or a formal notice to the institution. Representation and any filing require further review and agreement.

What should I provide for a free review?

Start with the institution, transaction type, amount, first-report date, and response. Keep statements and notices available. Do not include passwords, PINs, or full account numbers.
